ABSTRACT
Introductory courses were taken in Organic Chemistry Research Laboratory and Organic Chemistry Seminar. Paul Flory notes that he prepared a “black gummy polymer.” His notebooks for physical chemistry contained a different tone. His casual remarks were even lyrical when he discussed classical physical chemistry. He was fascinated by the classic thermodynamics text by Lewis and Randall.14
