ABSTRACT
The Materials and Methods section or chapter usually follows the Introduction and Literature Review sections/chapters. However, in journal papers and conference articles, the Materials and Methods section usually appears after an Introduction section which incorporates the Literature Review (see Chapter 13-Writing the introduction and literature review). The norm in reports and theses is that Materials and Methods are presented as a section or chapter after the Literature Review.
