ABSTRACT

Before I start to discuss what I perceive to be some of the weaknesses in contemporary healthcare human resources (HR) hiring methods, I think it is worthwhile to delineate some of the most popular hiring strategies. Many readers will probably already be familiar with most of the information in the next few pages. However, I feel that it is always a good idea to start with first principles (in this case, a quick delineation of the various methods) before delving into a deeper discussion of these issues.
