ABSTRACT

As innovation can be a fleeting opportunity based on timing, dedication, and support from decision makers, the future of innovation in the federal community will remain prominent. Many agencies use innovation to prescribe their very activities and strategy to secure future funding in support of achieving their core competencies; others use the term in a cavalier manner to describe the indelible marks they have sought to achieve in their own individual careers. The central questions remain:

1. Can you be innovative in your present position? 2. From your perspective, is your department or agency

innovative? 3. What are the top three innovative initiatives you or your

agency completed over the past year? 4. What value did those innovative initiatives or projects

bring to the agency or organization?
