ABSTRACT

Homecare services provide special medical and paramedical assistance to patients in their homes (Bachouch et al., 2010). Homecare workers provide therapy, house cleaning, medical, and social services. Elderly people, patients with physical or mental challenges or acute illness, and those in need of posthospitalization treatment receive special care in their homes (Woodward, Tedford, and Hutchison, 2004; Akjiratikarl, Yenradee, and Drake, 2007; Mutingi and Mbohwa, 2013). The demand for homecare services is aggravated by an ageing population and the ever-increasing chronic pathologies. Governmental authorities and communities continue to call for improved healthcare services (Drake and Davies, 2006). On the other hand, modern innovative technologies enhance provision of homecare services (Mutingi, 2014).
