ABSTRACT
Introduction A renovation makes an acoustician’s job harder in some ways yet easier in other ways. At the onset of a renovation, it is essential to have a thorough understanding of the existing building before any decisions are made. It is vital to review acoustic measurements including ambient noise and vibration. Do not spend time measuring HVAC systems if the building will be gutted because those systems are likely to be replaced.
