e essential oil contains trans-anethole 71.98% and feniculin 14.56% as the major constituents.2(c) A sample from China contained trans-beta-bergamotene in large proportions.2(d) A characteristic phenolic constituent of Apiaceae, 4-(betad-glucopyranosyl)-benzoic acid, has been isolated from the fruit.2(d) Flavonoids rutin and kaempferol glycosides have been reported.
