ABSTRACT
Emerging technologies are now available to help identify UD whose remains yielded partial profiles or no viable profiles from current CE technologies used in most forensic laboratories. Those profiles reside at LDIS and SDIS labs across the country but cannot be effectively be searched as legacy DNA technology failed to produce full profiles. Next-generation sequencing (NGS) DNA acquired profiles supported with stable isotope analysis (SIA) may produce a full DNA profile for effective searching and to possibly locate a geographic area for a candidate match or association are discussed first in this chapter.
