ABSTRACT
This chapter reviews the process of preparing a gap analysis and identifying a “tool” checklist for providers to begin the journey. Given the requirement to conduct a gap analysis, mission success is dependent on already having or acquiring the basic skill sets to identify and articulate your current state, future state, and all gaps within the margins. This is key to surviving the treacherous twists and turns encountered when navigating through a comprehensive gap analysis, which in many cases may determine the fate of the organization. Those who create the illusion of normalcy, as a form of anesthetic to avoid the pain and suffering of discovering their true economic state or disregarding simple change within their environment, will not survive.
