The clock is ticking, and just before Smith heads off to Oregon, she hands over her responsibilities to Foster, who will take over running the emergency room (ER) in her absence. They have agreed that Foster will focus on the “regular” work, which will likely keep him busy enough. This means further implementation of Lean will temporarily be a lower priority-there’s no way around it.
