ABSTRACT

Abstract The use of directional links for mobile ad hoc networking for the military offers a number of benefits over traditional omni-directional links. One of the drawbacks of wireless networking using omni-directional links is the interference caused to all wireless receivers within range of the wireless transmitter. In contrast, the use of directional beams allows the realization of point-to-point wireless links, thereby significantly reducing interference. An immediate benefit of this is the ability to simultaneously operate multiple links at the same frequency in the same geographical region,
