ABSTRACT

Pure batching is working with a “lot,” or “group,” of parts and doing each task to each part or product as a “group.” For example, consider mailing holiday cards. We write notes on all the cards, then we put all the cards in envelopes, then we address each card, then, finally we stamp each card. Many times the cards get mixed up, fall off the table, or end up in yet another pile waiting for an address.
