ABSTRACT
There is no organization without people, and there is no management without people. People have needs, feelings, limitations, and characteristics that overall are summarized under the term the human factor. This chapter discusses the human factor in the work of industrial engineers. The unit exposes students to ergonomics used in the context of workspace design and to key factors in human resource management, including occupational design, occupational evaluation, and organizational occupational evaluation systems.
