8.1 INTRODUCTION Malignant melanoma is one of the most serious skin cancers. Hence, early diagnosis is very important because early-stage melanoma can often be cured by simple excision, significantly increasing the chance of patient survival. Therefore, dermatologists strive to diagnose malignant melanoma as early as possible [1].
