ABSTRACT
Violence occurs when the social geometry of a conflict—the conflict structure—is violent. Every form of violence has its own structure, whether a beating structure, dueling structure, lynching structure, feuding structure, genocide structure—or terrorist structure. Structures kill and maim, not individuals or collectivities.
