ABSTRACT

Any membrane developed under a standard set of conditions, such as temperature and relative humidity needs to be characterized. Any small change in the conditions of membrane preparation may lead to a signicant change in membrane structure and membrane morphology, which in turn may affect the membrane performance. The ultimate goal is to get membrane morphology to achieve desired performance. Membrane characterization is carried out to evaluate the structural membrane properties, such as pore size and pore size distribution, and the separation properties.
