ABSTRACT
Nuclear power generation is responsible for more than 11% of the world’s electricity and is growing. There are more than 430 commercial nuclear reactors located in 31 countries. At the time of this publication, about 70 new nuclear reactors were under construction with another 170 being planned with activity being greatest in China, Russia, and India. France is the country most reliant on nuclear power with 58 nuclear reactors generating ~75% of the country’s electricity.
