ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The deformation properties of asphalt mixtures measured by means of dynamic methods and fatigue allow designing pavements which are capable to withstand the expected traffic load. Quality of these mixtures is also expressed through resistance to permanent deformation. Complex modulus of stiffness and fatigue can reliably characterize required asphalt mixture characteristics of the asphalt pavement. The complex modulus (E*) measurements of asphalt mixtures are carried out in laboratory of Department of Construction Management at University of Zilina, utilizing the two-point bending test method on trapezoid-shaped samples. At present, the fatigue is verified on trapezoid-shaped samples and it is evaluated pursuing the criterion of proportional strain at one million cycles (ε6).
