ABSTRACT

Over the past few years, the traditional systems engineering program has not been taught in majority of the engineering school’s curriculum. We are graduating engineering students with minimum background in system theory, optimization theory, and computation intelligence tools needed for solving large-scale power system problems even on other large-scale areas such as transportation and communication. This book serves as a pioneering work for addressing many of the computational challenges, specifically, the power system optimization problems [1-11,24], with adaptive dynamic stochastic and predictive characteristics.
