ABSTRACT

Almost everyone complains about health care. Walter Cronkite, Jr. was once quoted in the 1970s as saying, “America’s health care system is neither healthy, caring, nor a system.” Many people would claim the same today. Internationally, health care provisions are often viewed in an even more negative light. Reasons for health care complaints are not only attributed to cost factors; often the dissatisfaction is related to social, cultural, political, and economic conditions. Yet, basic health care, as a human right, is promoted by many organizations worldwide.
