ABSTRACT

Smart materials and energy problem Global problems are problems of humanity, which can be solved only on an Earth scale. P.L. Kapitsa, an outstanding scientist and public figure, was the first who formulated the four following basic interrelated global problems of the age (Kapitsa 1981): 1) a progressive increase in global population, 2) deficiency in energy resources, 3) the depletion of sources of industrial raw materials, and 4) environmental pollution. Processes that result from the global problems develop in time in accordance with geometric sequence. This leads inevitably to the phenomenon called explosion.
