ABSTRACT
By permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSGs), we mean here radial or axial air gap PM brushless generators with distributed (q > 1) or concentrated (q ≤ 1) windings and rectangular or sinusoidal current control with surface PM or interior PM (IPM) rotors. Multiple pole transverse flux machines (TFMs) or flux switching (reversal) machines (FRMs) conceived for low speed and high torque density will be discussed in Chapter 11.
