ABSTRACT
Research workers have identifi ed the fact that specifi c grasses are more productive over a longer period of the year in more hostile, higher altitude or hill country environments than [currently available] legumes which are more sensitive to lower temperatures plus frost damage and cannot be exclusively relied on to provide feed for livestock during cooler winter months.
