To see why these images come out this way, remember that the transfer image is pseudoscopic, and in order to see it the right way round (orthoscopic), you need to ip the

hologram. e image that was in front of the transfer plane is now behind it (a virtual image), and the image that was behind the transfer plane is now in front of it (a real image). Table rigs for transfer holograms are almost always oriented horizontally, that is, with the image on its side, as this makes setting up much simpler.
