ABSTRACT
So far our discussion has been algebraic. We now introduce methods from complex analysis and the concept of a modular function. In the next chapter, we show how these classical ideas lead to the Taniyama-Shimura-Weil Conjecture, which forms the centrepiece of Wiles’s approach to-and proof of-Fermat’s Last Theorem.
