Because it is difficult to obtain the analytic solution of system instantaneous availability with general probability distribution, we can try to find out a proper method to obtain an approximate solution, which is also important for solving the aforementioned problem. In this chapter, the primary focus is as follows: Under the condition of general probability distribution and single-unit system, seeking the approximate solution of an instantaneous availability equation, analyzing its error, and demonstrating whether the approximate solution is applicable for engineering.
