ABSTRACT
According to the basic principle of concrete structure repair, formalized in many standards and guidelines, existing concrete surfaces must be treated to remove carbonated or unsound material and roughen their profile and thereby promote good bond with repair materials. The efficiency of repair, restoration, or, more generally, connections depends primarily on the quality of the surface (or surfaces) and therefore the pretreatment.
