ABSTRACT

A general view of a typical RC cylindrical shell is shown in Figure 2.1.2b in Section 2. Such shells consist of three main structural elements:

• a thin-walled translation shallow shell; • edge elements in the long direction (types of these elements are shown

in Figure 2.1.4); • diaphragms in the short (curved) direction (types of diaphragms are

shown in Figure 2.1.3).
