ABSTRACT

Combinatorial games are a special class of games that have received a great deal of attention (for example, see [6], [7], [31], [12]). A vast general theory has been developed, far more than we can cover here. Thus, our goals shall be a bit less lofty. Instead, we shall concentrate on a number of fundamental games to see what we can learn directly from each game. A tiny bit of the general theory will slip in along the way.
