ABSTRACT

According to the open literature, the subject of selective multiple-step laser photoionization and laser isotope separation (LIS) surfaced under the authorship of researchers from the former Soviet Union around 1972 [1-4]. Theoretical interest in the United States was documented in the mid-to late 1970s [5,6], and more explicit interest on this subject was made public in the late 1970s to early 1980s [7-9]. Australian efforts in this research area were disclosed in the open literature in the early 1980s [10-13]. According to the open literature, subsequent LIS efforts can also be documented in France [14], India [15], and Japan [16].
