ABSTRACT

There are many tools and methods available to the modern quality practitioner. These tools include the classic seven quality tools, which are flowcharts, Ishikawa diagrams, Pareto diagrams, scatter diagrams, histograms, check sheet, and run chart. There are also the seven new management and planning tools, which are affinity diagrams, tree diagram, process decision program charts, matrix diagrams, prioritization matrices, interrelationship diagraphs, and activity network diagrams. These tools are very versatile and many can be used for root cause analysis, brain storming, prioritizing, and decision making.
