ABSTRACT
In Chapter 9, we discussed the importance of location mining and the challenges we are faced with in extracting the accurate locations of social media users. While extracting the location may result in privacy violations, especially if a user wants to keep his/her location private, it has numerous benefits such as locating the whereabouts of a criminal. We have developed several algorithms that can extract the location of a user. In this chapter, we will describe our first algorithm that we have called TweetHood.
