ABSTRACT

Data collection is a critical first step in deciding if your work cell is going to work, look, and maintain high-performance levels. A variety of data collection options are available, and many people can become bogged down with deciding what tool to use. To simplify your focus, I cover the most common and valuable tool: time and motion studies. Time and motion studies are conducted to capture the current state of build time on the products that will be built in your newly implemented work cell. Below is an example of a form I have used for over 10 years.
