Twelve muscle channels and twelve cutaneous regions (十二經筋和十二皮部)

The muscle channels originate in the extremities and ascend to the head and trunk. The tai yang (greater yang) and shao yin (lesser yin) muscle channels are positioned along the posterior aspect of the body, while the shao yang (lesser yang) and jue yin (absolute yin) muscle channels are along the sides. The yang ming (yang brightness) and tai yin (greater yin) muscle channels are located along the anterior aspect.
