ABSTRACT

In acupuncture therapy, there are four commonly used needles. These are (1) filiform needles, (2) three-edged needles, (3) cutaneous needles, and (4) intradermal needles. This chapter will discuss each type of needles, various needling methods, and the use of electrostimulation, precautions during treatment, and the management of accidents and adverse events. Finally, at the end of this chapter, the effects of acupuncture in the human body will be briefly discussed.
