ABSTRACT
Examples of such systems are adiabatically expanding gas jets through submillimeter nozzles, dense gases near coexistence states with liquids, binary solid solutions in which the concentration of the solute is higher than the solubility threshold, local and extended defects in irradiated solid targets, and phase transitions in the adsorption layers on solid surfaces interacting with gas or plasma by particle/energy exchange.
