ABSTRACT
In this chapter we investigate submanifolds that arise as orbits of isometric Lie group actions on Riemannian manifolds. These so-called (extrinsically) homogeneous submanifolds have the important feature that their geometric invariants, like the second fundamental form, are independent of the point.
