ABSTRACT
This review will focus on the origin of PL in GQDs, PL-quenching mechanism, a brief description of the validity of the up-conversion of PL in GQDs as well as their most recent scientic and technological applications. Owing to the increasing reports about GQDs, we apologize to the researchers whose latest reports may have been left out.
