ABSTRACT

The major application of aerobic treatment is the biotreatment of domestic sewage, which contains human feces and urine and the so-called gray water from washing, bathing, and cooking. Domestic sewage wastewater typically contains 800 mg/L of total solids, including 440 mg/L of organic matter (total volatile solids), 240 mg/L of suspended solids, 200 mg/L BOD, 35 mg N/L, and 7 mg P/L. The typical domestic wastewater ow per capita is 450 L/day.
