ABSTRACT
A value specialist is a full-time value analyst or value engineer trained in the VA/VE discipline of obtaining essential function at least cost in resources without impairing quality. Value specialists may or may not be holders of a Certified Value Specialist (CVS) certification, though it definitely helps to have one. They are the persons in charge of the corporate value-services function, also known by other names like operationalexcellence center or project-management office.
