If we agree that people are the greatest asset of an organization, then there is great need for judicious use of this asset. For management to learn through personal experience is expensive. When you receive suggestions from employees, you will be better than all of your years of experience. Besides, what better way is there to recognize the importance of your fellow employees than to ask them for their valued ideas? Shifting from the viewpoint of the all-knowing managerial decision makers to making more employees part of the corporate-strategy process is a powerful means of aligning them more closely with the company’s overall direction and goals.
