ABSTRACT

When implementing something new, initially just perform a trial of the process, oen referred to as a pilot. A pilot is a small scale version of a larger project that you are working to implement. Among other things, doing a pilot allows you to catch potential problems in the process prior to a full scale rollout. Although when implementing a pilot for a process, you are technically in the “Do” phase, the pilot allows you to “check” whether the pilot is successful and “adjust” if necessary, which will trigger the Plan-Do-Check-Adjust (PDCA) cycle once more.
