ABSTRACT

Prior to coming to juvenile court, Thomas, a 10th grade student, lived with his mother. His parents are divorced, and he was seeing his father regularly. However, after being placed on probation, Thomas asked the probation officer if he could move from his mother’s house to his dad’s house. He said that he thought the lack of rules and supervision at his mother’s house was a contributing factor in his truancy from school. The probation officer agreed to try this.
