ABSTRACT
Theovariesarelocatedonthereversesideoftheplicalataandareconnected
totheuterusbytheutero-ovarianligament(ligamentumovariiproprium).
Theutero-ovarianligamentcontainsbloodvesselsoriginatingintheascend-
ingbranchoftheuterineartery.Theovariesareprimarilyperfusedbythe
ovarianarterystemmingfromtheaortaandpassingthroughtheovariansus-
pensoryligament(ligamentumsuspensoriumovarii).Bloodleavesthe
ovariesprimarilyviatheovarianvein,whichisalsowithintheovariansus-
pensoryligament(Figure2.1).
