ABSTRACT
The following article provides an overview of the perception of the risks of nanotechnology by experts compared to the risk perception of laypeople and highlights the role of the media in this process. Moreover, it explains the integration of various societal stakeholders through participatory measures to date and outlines recommendations for more effective participation.
