A number of clinical considerations may exist for health and tness practitioners, coaches, school nurses, dietitians, or medical providers. This chapter focuses upon the three most prevalent clinical considerations for a child and youth population involved in sport participation. For each considerations, this chapter offers advice and recommendations surrounding the underlying pathology, commons means to assess the presence or development of the underlying condition. Further, each section extends this discussion to include feedback related to necessary diagnosis and interventions. Finally, ways to evaluate and a highlighting of expected responsibilities are included along with case studies to help guide the reader through any of these situations. In all circumstances, individuals without appropriate education and training are rst advised to consult with such individuals to ensure key prudent steps are taken to ensure safety and to help promote a positive outcome.
