ABSTRACT
Friction ridge identication procedures have been widely discussed in the literature and in other forums. Traditional literature coverage of the issues has been provided by Cowger (1983), Grieve (1988, 1990), Ashbaugh (1999), Wertheim (2000), and SWGFAST (2013a). The Internet is also a valuable source of information regarding the identication process. Edward German’s site (https:// www.onin.com/fp, last accessed January 29, 2016) is a reference on these matters, covering the basic concepts and a discussion of some known cases of erroneous identications.
