The MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) Vaccine The MMR vaccine is a three-in-one vaccine that is administered as a subcutaneous injection and contains live attenuated viruses. The nationwide immunisation of children was introduced in 1988 protecting against measles, mumps and German measles (Rubella). It is given to children at 12-15 months with a preschool booster given between the ages of 3 and 5 years.
