ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the aim and the background of the local anaesthesia for ocular surgery. It provides general notes on local anaesthesia. The chapter also provides clinical context of the extraocular anaesthesia and then provides information on periosteal anaesthesia. It presents the methods of undertaking practical procedures of the extraocular anaesthesia and the periosteal anaesthesia. The chapter gives a list of equipment required for the sub-tenons anaesthesia. It examines anatomical consideration of the sub-tenons anaesthesia and lists procedure of the sub-tenons anaesthesia.
