ABSTRACT

We have discussed why sustainability is important for long-term organizational success. Now, let’s take a deeper dive into how to implement projects designed to promote organizational sustainability. This chapter focuses on providing resources, tools, and frameworks for program and project managers as well as highlights cases and best practices to engage employees to create a culture of sustainability. The chapter begins with educational resources, early-adoption projects, and first-stage employee engagement techniques, then moves to more complex and interconnected projects. As an organization moves forward on the sustainability continuum, management realizes that in order to have significant impact on global sustainability challenges, they need to pursue collaborative solutions with both internal and external stakeholders.
